So I ordered some chaeto for the sump in my biocube and it unexpectedly came with some sort of crab and I’m guessing they’re shrimp?

Best I can do with it being in the bag with my phone camera

Well I went ahead and threw it all in the tank. There’s no fish or coral in it yet so I figured it couldn’t hurt anything.

When the daylights turn on I’ll get a clearer pic. If they’re not all hiding by then

From that first picture I want to say Gall crab, but I'm not sure if that's correct or not.

The crabs went into hiding in the rocks but they’re brown. This is a pic of the I assume shrimps.

Amphipods. Good to have 100% safe. The jury is still out on that crab though.

I took a screen shot from the video since I couldn’t figure out how to post video on here. I think this is the best shot I’m going to have of it.

There’s 2 of them. I found the other after opening the bag.

I’ll keep them as long as they’re not harmful to anything. I have a second tank I can move them to if needed.

This would probably be your best bet IMO. Crabs are opportunistic feeders and it's only a matter of time before something goes missing, gets damaged etc. Finding a crab and removing it from a reef tank can be a real bugger too. GL.
