My porcelain crab abandoned his anemone last night in favor of a tiny squamosa clam. Has anyone ever seen this before? I can't imagine the clam is a happy willing host since the crab is pretty large compared to it. I thought maybe he jumped ship because he was molting, but I have not found his molt yet. Somehow the anemone looks sad, like it knows it's being cheated on. Excuse the bad pic, they are in a horrible spot to photograph.

Should I try and seperate them somehow or just see what happens? I could keep the crab in an acclimation box for the time being if needed, if I could even reach him with my T Rex arms that is:p

No the little unfaithful will wander the tank and be fine. Yea keep an eye on the stuff it hosts so its not bugging it. Mt first and last white porcelain wore my ricordea as a hat and walked around the tank. no the Ric didnt like it, nor survive. the crab lived about 4 years.

Ha I almost wouldn't mind if he stole one of the shrooms for a hat, depending on which shroom of course, and how well he could pull it off;) wow 4 years is long for them isn't it? I think i recall seeing 2 as the norm. I'll give it another day or 2 and see what he does. Maybe the anemone will be able to coax him back into her arms!
