These guys were half off at a lfs from $40 to $20 a price I still believe to be a rip off especially considering none on them were open, but I manually picked some stuff off the frag to clean it up and blasted it 2 or 3 times over a week. Had the frag about 3 or 4 months now and maybe 1/3 nights (2 times a week) roughly these guys look terrible, closed and droopy.... I have not the slightest clue what to think of it.

Providing complete tank information such as age, lighting, other corals you have etc.. and also complete tank parameters will help people give you advice. With zero information to go on the only suggestion I can make is black substrate can sometimes be problematic as its typically volcanic and can contain metals

Wow dude that's awesome advice, I got it as a suggestion as live sand from my highest quality lfs, but the more time goes on the more I only see them as a problem. I dose kalkwasser and use instant ocean salt, salinity 1.025 (refractometer) I have a skimmer, tank running just over a year, kessil lighting, about 80 par to these guys, I have other lps and softies doing great. But some do have white spots I wonder if it is some sort of tank pest (forgot the name of those white critters)

is that a picture of the morning or night? Zoas sometimes look like that when they are reaching for light. My zoas do that when its morning and the lights haven't turned on yet and instead reach for the light coming through the window.

Also, not all zoas are created equal, some prefer high light and others low.
the white spots, are they only on zoas or other corals too? It could be zoa pox, or nudis. Do you have a picture of the white spots?
