I got this hammer about 9 mos ago with 2 heads and it has done great! Has at least 10 heads now. All of a sudden within the past few days it’s not happy at all yet frogspawn about 1 foot away is fine. Did just start dosing ATI Essentials Pro but other than dkh a little wobbly and adjusting the supplement nothing has changed. No wild swings that aIm aware of. Any ideas why it could be unhapp? Posting pic from today and will upload earlier pic for comparison. Frogspawn on left, hammer on right.
Today just hammer

Today hammer on right near green star, usually looks like the frogspawn on left with indiscernible heads

hi,hopefully just having a bad day or two, poss well fed,all others seem fine,i would do nothing ,and observe, any others give probs, hammer worsens ,then act ,meanwhile check all your params including salinity :)

If no serious changes other than noted than +2 @fishguy242

Actual parameters at the moment will give us a better idea if there actually is something else going on....

Salinity 1.026
Phos .07
pH 8.0
Temp 77.6
NO3 10-20 API
dKH 7.6 down from 8.3, adjusted ATI Essentials pro accordingly
Ca 466
Mg 1290

So, things have only gotten worse with the hammer. Still can’t figure it out. I was in the hospital for almost 2 months so not much happened with the tank other than feeding the fish and topping off ATO. Husband has done a small water change but that’s it.
Currently:
Temp - 77.7
pH - 8.4
dKH - 8.4
PO4 - 0.08
NO3 - 5 ppm
Ca+ - 450
Mg+ - 1250

So, you can see, very stable parameters but now frogspawn not fully opening and hammer looking worse than ever. Not sure what I need to do for them

hi,pics at peak time ,maybe can help,or allow to call in help.. :)

its just sulking because of a change in parameters or may be a fish swimming/ coral waving too close. you need to worry when all its polyps retract inside the base stump. he should bounce back from this. if it doesn't try moving it to little more flow.

This is the frogspawn. Looked perfect yesterday, all fluffed out. Normally you cant

This is the hammer. It’s one of the first corals we got a year ago. Started with 2 heads but when we were forced to treat the entire DT back in early November I posted it was unhappy and it’s just getting less happy. I will do anything I need to to help it. We have moved it a couple of times to try to find something it likes but to no avail. I’ve ordered some Selcon and I’m about to grow phyto and rotifer cultures out. Don’t really know what else to do. I hate my lights and am working towards moving to all T5. My Noopsyche K2 pros will be up for sale soon.

Other corals looks health is that still the case? I had my euphyllia start looking bad right before I had a Dino bloom. Not saying that is what your is as tank looks really healthy but it was the first coral to be affected in my tank. Even during gloom bloom only other coral affected was my plate.

DO NOT Iodine dip. they are not fond of such. Personally I would make the following adjustments. Although I like the lower part of tank for location, elevate it a little as sand could be getting on them and irritating them.
Moderate light and water flow is best. Inspect the stem of each branch for any moving bug or flatworms (both are tiny)

Maintain the following in range listed without chasing numbers:

Temp 77-79
salinity 1.025
ph 8.1-8.3
Nitrate < .04
Phos < .04
Mag 1300
CA 440
Alk 8-9

Occasionally add to water : stronium and iodine.(just a small amount)
Here is a FEW of mine:
