I thought this was a dead coral on my live rock but with the water quality recently being improved and the lights set to a better photosynthesis it appears to have returned to life. Any thoughts on what this species is? I've used Google photo and spent a few hrs researching to no avail. Thanks in advance ☺️

Are you sure it's not aphasia?

It's only just begun sprouting the clear tentacles within the last few days, from what I've gathered it doesn't match the description of Aphasia however it's so new in growth there's no telling.

That's definitely not aiptasia. The polyps clearly have skeletons.

They look very much like some sort of Tubastrea, which means they are non-photosynthetic and will require target feeding to stay healthy and thrive.

Cool find! :)

Thanks! I've been researching to be sure it's non toxic or non predatory and I think it may be Cladocora arbuscula seeing as how all of my other hitchhikers came from Florida I'm suspecting the rock was shipped from FL and this species of coral is prevalent in the area.
