Unique LFS features!

What are some unique things that you’ve seen at your LFS that sets it apart? Is there something you wish your LFS does that isn’t usually done?

This can be anything! From having multiple brands of fresh saltwater available to gorgeous and unique display tanks that make you go WOW. A rewards program? Having an area to play around with live rock? A full or even an observational quarantine would be wonderful!

Interested in hearing all your ideas, no matter how crazy!

One thing that I really appreciate about my favorite LFS is that when I talk to any of the staff about buying a fish or coral, which I haven't done in a while, they will ask me about my tank. Size, livestock, parameters, etc... and make honest, knowledgeable recommendations.
I have left that establishment on several occasions empty handed simply on the advice of the staff. And yet, they're always happy to see me next time. That speaks volumes to me about the integrity of the business and it's employees and keeps me coming back.

That would look really cool! I think unique display tanks really make a store special. Even something like a display refugium would be really fun to look at!

For me it is the fact that they QT all fish before they sell them. They have plenty of knowledge and never pressure me into buying anything. They also have a rewards program.

Do you know what their QT procedure is?

Yes they QT for 6 weeks in cooper, then observation for a week before selling. You can buy the fish while in QT and keep it there. If something happens, they refund the $$$. I was even going to buy a wrasse and they noticed a fish that had ick and they QT'd every fish they had and the wrasse I was buying. Never had one sick fish from them.
