Hello There! Posting for a friend.

Apparently his clownfish started to act weird, from swimming all around the fish tank and acting normally, now (since yesterday) is only just standing on some Zoas and breathing heavily.

He has done a 15% weekly water change consistently, done another additional one yesterday.

Nitrate:17.6 (has been like that since 1 year ago)
Phosphate: 0.4 (has been like that since 1 year ago)
PH: 8.3
Mg: 1350
Ca: 420

Any advise? Thanks

Would you be able to post the videos as a YouTube link? Can’t get them on my end.
How fast is it breathing? How recently was the clown added? How was it acclimated if new?

Thanks for your reply!

The clownfish (pair) has been in the fishtank for a year, last fish was added 6 months ago.

Last coral was added 2 months ago, coral dipped.

Thanks!

Given how long since the most recent additions, most diseases can be ruled out.
Any newfound aggression from tankmates? Perhaps the other clown? That could stress it out and result in fast breathing and hiding like that.

Thanks for your reply!

Video is quite dark to assess what’s going on
I do see accelerated breathing and first begin with testing ammonia and nitrate level to assure not elevated
Follow with water change
Please post clear pics under white lighting for accurate assessment
