I doubt anyone will be able to identify this it's most likely one of the sps already in the tank but iv never had this happen before

At no point has sps or any other coral ever been mounted here or touching here

But somthing is growing very orange and seems to have polyps comming in tank has ot has anything new for a long time except the graphed coral

But let see if it grows and what it turns into will post updates as it progresses

For reference the pinhead size orange spec growing in the purple clove polyps is what I'm talking about

Mabey I'll get a new color variety of one of the sps already in the tank or somthing new or mabey nothing at all but its growing daily

If it is orange, it is probably sponge. Very common.
I have 0 orange sponges tank is 2 years old yellow and black sponges only and it's calcified you can see the skeleton it's defiantly sps just don't know which one or how it got there

If it’s not a sponge then it’s probably part of the montipora that’s in the top left of the picture. If it’s not update once it’s got some size.

1) Where did you get your live rock from?
2) Any chance the orange Montipora in the background could have spawned?

10 lbs came from lfs 2 and a half years ago for a 10.5 evo that developed a leak the other 25 came from flordia as dry mined rock 2 years ago and mabey as the bigger it gets the more its looks like it

but I did not see it spawn does not mean it didn't tho

Just thought it might be somthing fun to see what it becomes

Honestly it's the color of the cap in the back but looks to have polyps like the digi

But has a completely white skeleton may just be young tho

That was my guess but I'm hoping to see somthing new otherwise it's in a location I'll have to move once it's big enoff lol

Plan to keep this uodated

Clove polyps respond very well to fenbendazole but it will wipe out much of your inverts.

If your rock came from the LFS, there's a chance that it could once of had coral on it. That spot looks like it could be Montipora setosa to me.

The last few pages of my build thread have a way to treat cloves with no losses, but it takes time. Uses fenbendazole, but does not expect instant death. Worked great for me. No need to wipe out all of your inverts.

No the thing I'm referencing is in the middle of the micro clove polyps

The micro cloves I don't care about the sps is killing them off

And an update there are now 4 in total the original one has doubled in size and is the same color as the bigish orange monti cap polyps are still small

I'm guessing what I witnessed about a month ago was it spawning

It spilled out white tentical things and a mist stuff I thought I ticked it off feeding the candy cane or it was a feeding response of some sort

Event lasted about an hour and stoped when I turn the pumps back on I must of triggered it somehow now to figure out how

Hard to see but the little orange glowing spots are what I'm talking about easier to see under atinics
