Anyone have any ideas what this little guy is. And maybe some safe ideas on how to remove the algae from him.

It looks like a favia species. Do you have a clean up crew?
Cant really tell what type of algae that is. If it is bryopsis, nothing will eat it and you might have to use vibrant or fluconazole treatment...
Im sure others will chime in here too...

Thank you. It’s just gha I’m pretty sure. I started using RO water from a health food store rather then my city water and gha exploded in my tank. I used it for about a month before I tested it. When I did test I noticed the phosphate was really high. Like around 3 ppm high. So I ordered a rodi unit, picked up a Fox face and a lawnmower Benny. Just got the rodi unit in today. So it will likely clear up soon. I also ordered some phosphate rx and dosed my tank. That also helped with the gha. that one coral is the only one that has any growing on it. But it is growing from between the polyps so I haven’t had any luck pulling it off.

As far as a cleanup crew I have prob around 20 snails, 25 hermits, a Sally Lightfoot, a foxface, a yellow spot gobie, a lawnmower Blenny and a couple of unknown gobies that the lfs said would eat red slime algae. They called them molly mulers. But I can’t find anything by that name on the net.

I took this tank over from my father in law. It really looked bad when he had it.only had a pile of live rock and a Singapore angle in it. The nitrate was up around 180 or higher. He was massively over feeding and I couldn’t get it to come down even with large water changes. So I started vodka dosing.
My water has been a little out of whack with the phosphate but with the new rodi unit I should start to normalize now.

Water
78 deg
S/g 1.025
Nitrate at 40 now
Phosphate .25 ppm or less. Only have a high range kit
Dkh 12.
Cal. 500.
I think alk and cal are high due to water changes and no real demand for them in tank. Only have 3 lps corals and what little bit of Coraline there is.
Other then that everything else is good.

I should add the first pic is from when I first got it. And only had t8 lighting. Second pic is from a couple months later after algae had grown and about 2 weeks after getting new led lights. 2x black boxes
