Hi

My tank has never seen a live rock but I have added corals, copepods, fish.
I noticed this appear on the glass today and have put it in a little jar for now.
Thought it might be a baby snail until I noticed it looks spiked with orange tips.
Possibly a flame tipped nudibranch?
Are these harmful?
if you think it’s something different please let me know.

Yeah they’re brown with orange tips.
The only thing I didn’t dip was a small zoa colony...typical!
Ive not heard of freshwater dipping corals before, is this safe?
thinking I might dip 2 zoa colony’s, my 2 hammers and an acro.

Freshwater dips will causes zoa's and stuff to form blister looking like things on their outer tissue. Won't kill them but it definitely hurts em. Your better off testing to see if any of the usual treatments work on the nudibranch. Also they could be all over your tank and not just your frag.

Since you've caught a specimen, you can test Dr. G's coral dip, which is milbemycin oxyime.

Flatworm exit will work as well at higher doses. They will fall apart before your eyes.

Both of these can be used as in tank treatments but I would advise that if you have never done this with either one of these products, you should have someone with experience with doing in tank treatments with these products assist you.

I don't know about this specific nudi, but I'm pretty sure I've read that some nudi eggs can survive a dip.
