Ok so I was doing some tank cleaning and saw these too critters. They honestly look like slugs or maybe a snail? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Probably the fastest moving snail I’ve ever seen. Highly sought after. They get big fast and it’s not rare to not see them for weeks if not months.

Wait really, they are highly sought after??? I just throw thos little guys away when I find them in my tank lol!

Really!?!? They’re great eaters and supposedly can’t be breed easily. So almost no chance of them taking over like something like collonista snails, spirorbids, etc.
 
lol yeh. I prob thrown like 5-7 of them last year alone. But now I know lol.. Thank You.
 
Two modes of reproduction, spawn often accompanying changes in water chem, ie water changes.
And self lateral fission, they leave a part of themselves behind.
Hermits will kill and eat any Stometella they find. Less hermits more Stometella.
