Hi everyone I am new to this blog. We have had a saltwater tank for the last 20 years on and off. Looking for an ID on a fish I just bought. They sold it as a "honey damsel". I looked it up and couldn't find a fish with a common name of honey damsel. And when I went through my books, he didnt look like ANY fish listed. He is really cute but no clue what he is. Any idea?

The devil...really. White Damsel, Dischistodus perspicillatus. The can grow to 20 cm.

I bought one from a LFS which had taken one out of their big tanks because it was very "bitey" to the humans. I bought it for $5 for a Fowlr tank with bigger fish. It was fine in there for awhile but did like to move rocks around and when I tried to put artificial corals in there it moved those around. Eventually it had an altercation with a regal tang..noticed a laceration on it's side, assuming it was from the tang. It succumbed to the injury in a separate tank.

Looks like a transistioning Corazon’s Damsel
