That's what I was afraid of:(
Any suggestions on how to remove it?

Or Spirulina.
Did you do the test on it?

Remove some and put it in a clean sterile cup, add two drops of H020 to it.
If it change color it's cyano if not it's spirulina.

I was not aware that there was a way to test it, I will test it tomorrow to make sure. I was doing some research and I'm leaning towards cyano.

If you got further questions hit Todd up @twilliard.
You can also send him a sample and will test it for you or do a scoop test.

Not an expert but looks like cyano to me.

Cyano and some spirulina's can look the same that's why we test it.
They have different methods of to get rid off.
Check out @twilliard on here as he did a large study about them, and has also a plan of attack on the cyano with many success by the hobbyist on here.

That looks like my fuge right now :) As long as it's in the sump and everybody looks happy in the DT, then I'm not too worried about it myself.

hello Diesal, does this peroxide test work for all bacteria versus algaes ?

Only Cyano.
As you know cyano is a bacteria not a algae.
Ho2o has no effect on algae, although not in the amount we can dose safely in the tank to battle cyano.

Thank you I will do that. My boss is battling What he believes is cyano in his tank, this might help him.

@Diesel the h2o2 helped my GHA issue, I was just trying to get the Cyano taken care of. Now everything is gone, I don't know how or why it did, but somehow it did. :-)

Hi, guys I'm back in the hobby from two years now, I still have a 700 liter tank and have a 4 half inch French angel, a persoifier angel which is about 4 inch. Recently brought a scribbled angel which is 7 inches I've had her for two weeks now she wouldn't eat for five days then she started to eat mysis shrimp only a little I was very worried, I tried everything you can think of as in food then recently she started to eat pellets, flake food now she eats everything . One thing I'd like to say is that I have all girls in my aquarium and they all seem to get along, I've had so many issues with bully's that I've had to take back then from the bullying stress comes then comes parasites I've lost fish brought fish lost fish it goes on an on now I'm hoping I've got it right.
