I have just seen a small hitchhiker on the stem of my torch coral, in its holding tank; unfortunately I am not sure what it is and I can't get a useable photo.

It looks a little bit like a fanworm but I don't think it is. It only has about 5 tentacles and it retracts all the way into the coral when disturbed. It doesn't look quite like the pictures I have seen of Aiptasia but I guess it could be, it could also be a hydroid or something else entirely. It doesn't have much of a 'head' (just the stalk and tentacles) but is tiny so hard to see clearly; injecting into it with anything would be impossible.

Whilst it could be harmless, as I am nut sure what it is I want to remove it before I move it to the display tank. Is there a universal method for removing things like this? I was thinking of covering it in kalkwasser but I not sure if that kills everything or if it would damage the torch.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

I have managed to get a photo but its not great. The thing am looking at is the white bit sticking out on the left, pointing downwards. Any idea what it might be?

The epoxy idea sounds like a good one.
