Unknown Marine life found in tank?

Looks like a shrimp of some sort. It’s it coral safe is the question. Don’t know how it got in the tank but it’s there. Found in the refugium
Photos of video doesn’t play.

Main question/issue why happens if it populate the tank

Amphipods and Mysis are both amazing at just showing up on their own. I believe the Mysis shrimp that end up in our tanks are different than the ones we feed though (those are usually freshwater Mysis). The thing in your picture is most definitely an amphipod. If you’ve ever added any live rock, that’s where it came from. They also love to hide in frags, anywhere they can fit.

I remember staring at one of the first tanks I ever set up and I saw something move in the rocks. Lo and behold, it was an amphipod just scurrying around, eating whatever tiny things were available on the rocks. As far as I knew, that was the only living thing in there so far so I was enamored. :)

Probably not a mysis, but they look a lot like amphipods so I threw it out there.
