Have seen a few of these show up on my TBS live rock this week (though I'm not 100% sure I just didn't see them before).

No idea what they are, but want to make sure they're not something to worry about or remove. Talking about the plant/fern-like things, to the right of the red sponge in the first photo, and at "3:00" sticking straight out horizontally from the rock in the second photo.

Thanks!

Hydroids.

I've had something similar to them, they starved out over the first couple of months after set up.

I think I want to take a more proactive approach & try to get rid of them now, rather than hope they play nice & don't take over the tank. Glad they starved for you though :)

Manually removed the few I saw with tweezers as I will have to pick up AiptasiaX tomorrow. While moving the rocks around I found this guy. Maybe 1" when fully extended, bright yellow. What is it?

Sorry you guys just finished ID'ing my last unknown & here's another one already [emoji849]

It's cool looking whatever it is . Is it still alive? All kinds of interesting life with TBS . Good & bad !

Yup, still alive and moving, just chilling in tupperware for now. I was guessing he's a "not good" kind of cool, but unsure what to do with him yet... thoughts?

I've never seen a bristle worm this color and I have many; good detritivores and add needed diversity IMHO. Might study his head structure and search for eunicid worm.

Here's a very useful guide to common hitchhikers: https://www.lionfishlair.com/hitchhikers-guide/

I googled eunicid worm and seriously regret doing so. HOLY COW  I think this guy may get removed now, as if I put him in the sump, there's no guarantee he'll stay there, right?

And love the Hitchhiker's Guide link -- thank you!!!

those things give me the creeps ! It's those flesh rending mouth parts ! Yikes. I wonder how big they get in the ocean depths.

In case that yellow guy wasn't weird enough for you guys... here are his cousins, one yellow AND green dude who literally has a yellow head & green back half, and his buddy who is green with yellow fringe. Nature, it's official, you've outdone yourself o_O

Green one might be a vegetarian bristleworm...............ha ha. You really got some "live" rock.
