Hey everyone,

Anyone know what this is? It’s on the back wall of the tank

Thanks!

trochus snail eggs

Do you have any of those larger Tongan Nassarius snails in your tank? Those eggs look very similar to the ones my snail laid one time.

Trochus don't lay eggs.

Nassarius snail eggs.
I said trochus. Just removed some from 93 into my drop off and guess Trochus was on my mind LOL. It is nassarius. And I should know better as I just had a deposit myself

I wouldn't they will either grow into more free snails or become food for fish and inverts.

Do you also have Cerith in that tank? Those are looking more like Cerith eggs to me.

Yes I do have Nassarius snails in tank, do the eggs need to be removed?
Nope I leave them be and my fish pick at them until they're gone.

No.

Over the next few days or so the eggs will kind of disintegrate. Most of the "babies" will either be eaten by something else or removed from the system via filter socks, protein skimmers, water changes etc. Some of them might make it to adulthood though. GL.

Free food as it will be just that unless you can remove with a credit card carefully and transfer into an acclimation box with still no guarantee of survival
