In front of the aquarium all day pretty much and it’s finally gotten to me. This unknown white/strings attached to LR. Asking for the R2R family to educate me.

Is this something I should’ve been cleaning since the start-up?
I’ve only baster blast my LR, should I take a toothbrush to this substance?

What could be the causes of this? Is it calcium build up or snail remanence?
Thanks for looking R2R and any guidance.

This is a poriferan type of sponge- cystic sponge growth
You can carefully pull it off in one strand or inject with vinegar to stop it
It’s not harmful but can be evasive
