There also look like a couple spots on the body - though fewer - and difficult to see.

1. When did you get the fish - was it QT'd?
2. Any other fish with similar symptoms?
3. How old is the tank - what other fish are in the tank
4. Any acclimation stress? Big temperature change, etc etc.
5. How is the fish acting?

Without more information - it is hard to say. If I had to bet - I would say Cryptocaryon. But ??

When it was at your friends house - was it with other fish? - was it treated with any medication or just observed. Were the fish in your tank quarantined - treated?

While the spots do look too large to be ich, I’ve been fooled before, not realizing the fish in the picture was smaller than it seemed.
One trick is to watch the individual spots over 36 hours or so. If they are still in the exact same location, it is unlikely to be ich.

This could be the start of Lymphocystis (Unlikely) or broken fin rays from getting caught up and moved.
