Unplugging trident causes an Apex shutdown

I’m trying to disconnect my trident but when I do, the entire system shuts down. Power supply goes from power bar to trident and the usb goes from apex unit to trident.

I’m lost… any help would be appreciated.

It should go like this.

EB to Trident
EB to Apex head unit.
If the head unit is only getting its power from the trident and not the EB directly, this will happen.

might be how you are getting power to apex brain?

try powering the brain from eb8/832

ok great I’ll try that thank you. I didn’t realize the USB cable provided power, thought it was just for data transfer
