It wasn’t enough room.

Started automating and upgraded to a 40B

Apex, dosing and awc! Everything was looking great, maricultured colonies were growing and showing color like non other. Then I signed a new lease....

Had to move apartments and set up this tank:

Set up and moved when it was single digits outside and snowing. I loss some coral in the cold (literally running with sps encrusted rock outside in the snow to tank in the new set up. With a few ups and downs everything started looking good recently during the summer; I think the system is finally mature again.

I made some trades and then recently changed lights to the current lights of leds only to mixed t5 and led and have seen awesome growth.

I had some questions about the awc and I like pictures so here is the tract it takes...

Starts in the sump dipping down to a safe level in case it fails and ends up siphoning.

Had to drill through walls to get the tubing to the washer room.

And here it goes into the drain. It used to drain into a bucket that I had to manually empty when it started getting full but that was too much labor ;)

Here’s the doser that does awc. My lfs owner got it specially delivered from the other side of the world. Kaomer 5x WiFi. It didn’t make it to the us from some reason but I like it. I feel like this can be achieved by any 2 pumps. (At one point I had a dos do it)

What ats do you use? How does it run with the macro algae reactor? Does one out compete the other?

The ats is a homemade one by my lfs owner. The macro reactor probably does compete with the ats but I usually test out at 0 no3 and 0 po4. I feed heavy daily both fish and coral to maintain coral colors.
