I thought I had posted this days ago, not sure what happened.

Anyway, I have posted few times about these same fish. I have 2 Tangs, one yellow and one Kole (the yellow is sm/med size and the Kole is small) .
I got them back on Oct. 26th. About a week or 2 later the Yellow was flashing, I did a FW dip to confirm Flukes and treated with Prazipro twice. Everything seemed fine for a while, other than the fish being freaked out every time anyone is near the tank.
A few weeks after treatment, I saw the Yellow flash again, so I FW dipped both fish, didn't see anything, but the little one brought sand into my FW, so I wasn't 100% sure. I treated with Prazipro just in case, once more.

Since the day I got them, the Yellow has had this small whitish spot on his tail fin, not sure if it's a flaw or something is there, but after 3 treatments with prazipro, I doubt it's flukes? The Kole has these 2 spots on its dorsal fin, they are not white, they match his coloring but look raised, I assumed this was some kind of flaw in it's coloration, kind of weird looking. So over 3 months later, they're still in QT and they still have these same spots or flaws. They look fine otherwise, they're eating....a lot, swimming normal except the other day I saw the little Kole kind of bopping around, almost like bouncing while he swam, but the next day he was normal again.

I've recently had a spike in Nitrates that I'm working on getting under control...water change in few minutes and I'm using NOPOX to hopefully help.

I have no idea if these spots or flawed areas on these fish are normal, they have not gone away, they haven't spread, they haven't changed at all, they just look like they belong? So far I haven't observed any flashing, just the occasional odd behavior, like the bounce swimming that one night and sometimes the yellow fish wiggles, but it's different from the shaking he did when it was flukes. I do plan on doing another FW dip at some point, but they don't have any other visible signs of disease or illness.

I'm want to move them to my DT but I don't trust this just yet...just tired of having them in QT after 3, almost 4 months.

Any suggestions? Thoughts? I don't really know what else to do.

Here are a couple of pictures from a couple months ago, to show their areas I'm talking about.

The last photo above is recent, that spot on the tail is kind of yellowish. Here is a current picture of the Kole Tang, not the best shot, but I wanted to show the spots currently.

I’m not a fish expert , but I’ve never seen a yellow Kole tang before. Is it a hybrid of some sort! Seems to have a pinched stomach, but could be the picture. The Kole tangs I’ve seen/ had are blue with yellow ring around the eye, they do have the lines you are referring to, but as they are blue are not as noticeable as on your ( Kole tang? )

He's not really as yellow as that picture makes him look, he's a baby maybe 3" or less. I too am curious why he isn't as blue/orange as some pictures of yellow eyed Kole Tangs, I need to look up babies to see if this just what they look like as juveniles.
The spots on his dorsal fin are what I'm concerned about...I don't know if they a coloration issue or something is wrong. I bought them both from Live Aquaria, the Kole was supposed to a Med size fish just like the Yellow, I also bought a yellow clown goby that was DOA. Next time, I'm going to the local fish store, they're way more expensive but I have never had any real issues with their fish.

I'll try to get some better-ish...pictures of him, he never stops moving and when I get too close, they both hide. Upgrading them to a 40g breeder QT soon, once I find a reasonable stand for it...maybe have to learn to build one!

Ok, didn’t realise it was a juvenile ...... yes they are that colour as juveniles. Given that it probably going through changes in colour the spots you refer to are probably no cause for concern. Are they getting bigger? Is he eating, swimming, acting normally?

the bumps on the yellow could very well be lympth. are the white at all?

As long as they are eating i wouldnt stress. keep the lights off as much as possible. just let them chill

He said yellow, so won’t be lympth, I think colour pigment. They have been there for a couple of months, so can’t be too deadly

No white and I don't think it's lympth. because they are smooth circles that never change. They're eating fine. When I first got them, the yellow was so freaked out, I kept the lights off and a towel over the tank for a week, then weened them into room light before starting to turn on the tank lights. I'm not sure if the yellow was newly wild caught when he came to me, but it took him a long time to get used to the tank. I put colored paper on all side except the front, to keep him from seeing anything that freaked him out, he's better now, still skittish, but he's' no longer darting back and forth crashing into the sides!

I'm a she :) lol Yeah, that's what I'm wondering because he's been fine for months! Also, when I treated for Flukes, the Kole wasn't flashing, just the big yellow one and when I FW dipped, the Kole didn't have anything coming off him.

here's a slightly better idea of what he looks like...not an awesome shot, but he seriously never stops moving, constantly grazing.

Any hiding spots in the tank for the fish! The government here in Australia banned import of those synthetic plants

Relax and enjoy
I just want them out of quarantine in the DT! I'm trying to stock the tank and it's been one thing after another slowing the process. I have 215g tank for over a year, 2 clown fish that I've had for 9 years, a Goby that I added in Oct. and some hermit crabs....so empty.

Before the Goby, I had 2 black and white clowns that I acquired unexpectedly....My husband got 4 juvies, he picked the he wanted and was going to sell, they were in quarantine when we had power issue where that tank is, so I took them and put them in my DT which was brand new at the time, I had just added my two orange clowns so I figured I'd try and see if they could all coexist, they did great for a few hours, then one black and white started hanging out with the female orange and chasing away the other black n white...who was supposed to be his future mate! lol I moved them to my QT, got attached...they lived in there for months, then I bought them a biocube and moved them so I could get the Goby and Fire shrimp (who lives in the biocube now too). Goby and Shrimp were a riot together, I may reunite them in the DT...they were great, no issues at all, moved them after a couple months in quarantine. Got the Tangs in Oct. 2018 and here we are still in quarantine! I feel like my DT will never be full, my clowns are occassionally hanging out on the opposite side, sometimes separately, I'm sure they going to cause trouble with the Tangs when the move in.

OH and I almost forgot!! I bought a Conch when I got the Goby, that thing was freaky, super active at night, making all kinds of noise against the glass. I moved him into the display tank in Oct. he burrowed under the sand and I never saw him again...I don't even know it's it alive...can't find his shell anywhere..he was big too, like 4".

The plant is where the Yellow loves to hide and fits. The little one hides there and fits in the pvc pipe too. There's no where else for them to hide, I added the plant for them in the beginning. Why did they ban them?

The spots have not gotten bigger, smaller etc. just staying the same. He's eating fine, constantly grazing, swimming and acting normal as far as I know. The other day he was bopping while swimming, almost like a small bounce, but the next day he was normal again....maybe he was just in a really good mood, haha

They banned them because of bad taste!....... I’ve been joking

lol. yeah, I don't use them in any of my tanks, just tossed it in the QT because the Tang was losing his mind in there :)

I am across and old picture of my very first FW tank....so much color! pebbles, colorful plastic plants...everything you can buy at Petsmart, lol Now my FW is just holey rock, sand and fish who constantly have babies.
