I setup a pretty inexpensive QT system for the fish I was planning on buying for my DT. Now that my QT is cycled, and my DT has about all the fish I want at the time; what do I do with the QT system? I do have quite a few corals, and will probably purchase more in the future; so a QT for frags may be a possibility. But what do you guys think?

Shut 'er down until needed.

Tuck it away somewhere for safekeeping should you need it again :)

I keep mine running all the time. It’s come in handy a couple of times for taking sick fish out of the DT for treatment etc.

I keep mine dry and clean to reduce the risk of pathogens. Filter media stays in the DT sump. I can have it running in 24 hours pretty easily when needed. I’m about to fire it up again as I have a new tank I will soon start stocking.

I know this is an older thread, but one thing worth mentioning is if you ever did actually use copper in that qt, you may want to be careful adding inverts. Its supposedly possible for the silicone seams to have absorbed some and can possibly leach. Just a warning I've heard before
