Unused saturated Kalkwasser

Hello Randy,
I have a simple question that hopefully will spawn a simple answer.

I have unused saturated Kalkwasser that has been sitting at the bottom of a Dosing container with about 2" of water for a couple of months.

My question is - Can I continue to use the Kalkwasser that's settled there by adding more to it, or should I just remove the old settled saturated Kalkwasser and replace it with new?

Most likely the remaining water has reacted to atmosphere co2 and would be ineffective id just dump it

I agree, I would dump it. When I was dose kalwasser I used to use a powerhead to keep the water stirred to minimize the build up of sediment on the bottom.

I clean my reactor every couple months myself.
Just my preference.

IMO, it is OK to reuse it or dump it. Whether it is depleted or not, there's nothing "wrong" with the water, and it may still have some potency.

Most likely you are right but if it did react it also lost the ability to precipitate impurities and could be contaminated so to speak

I'm not sure where a contaminant would come from, but making limewater out of it again would do whatever reduction it would do the first time.

My concern is definitely contamination. I have a lot of SPS Acropora from Australia that took a lot of time and money to accumulate. I'm concerned that if I reuse the Kalkwasser that has settled at the bottom, it may cause an unhealthy environment for my Acros

Where would a contaminant be coming from?

Possibly the stagnant Kalkwasser sitting at the bottom of the container? If it's reusable after sitting for a couple months then you don't see a problem with me continuing to use it?

No. Where is a contaminant coming from? I routinely use mine over a period of more than a month for a 120 gallon reservoir.

I just want to make sure that since mine has been sitting at the bottom, withoit being used, is not going to cause a problem

So Randy, I am thinking that by sitting and being exposed to air it has lost its high PH value but other than that it would work the same right? Has it lost its KH? The calcium would still be there.

Dump it out, inert at this point.
