Hello everyone,

I just received a fish shipment and they made a mistake and sent me 20 or so of hermit crabs that I didn't order nor want.

I thought maybe dropping them in the sump but there's no light and I don't want them to just die and add waste to the tank.

Ideas Todo with them?

You could advertise locally and just give them away. You might find a local reefing buddy in the process :)

Agreed to sell or give away.
They don't "need" light and would probably catch food that goes over the overflow.
I have a big blue leg that didn't play well with other cuc members so into the sump it went. I haven't fed him in a couple years at least. He does keep the frag rack clean though.

don't believe they'd do bad without light. i have had hermits and snails in my sump where the 'fuge light didn't reach and they were fine as long as there was food available. but you can also trade/sell to LFS for store credit.
