We're replacing our HVAC system next Tuesday and I'm somewhat nervous this will cause a temperature spike in my tank. It's going to be 100+ for the next 10 days, so I'm planning on getting the house as cold as possible the night before (hopefully down to 67 or 68). Throughout the day with people going in and out I'm anticipating the house temperature getting up to 90+, likely staying at that point for 8-10 hours.

I have a 120 gallon tank with 5 fish and a bunch of inverts, but no real corals. Should I be concerned about the temperature spike? If so, what are some steps I can take to start preparing now? I don't have a chiller.

Thanks.

freeze a bunch of bottled water and rotate them in and out of your sump.

Maybe a couple well placed fans too.
Will cause more evaporation, so be ready to do extra freshwater top-offs.

I had the same issue. I'm not saying everything will go like mine but I didn't do a thing and my tank made it fine. I had the entire unit replaced and I live in the south where it was VERY hot. Hope all goes well bud.
