Update added salt to new 40 gallon

I had to add my salt directly to my tank today new 40 gallon i had ever spare pump and power head to keep water stir this is the result my refractor is getting 10 hours after adding the last bit of salt
does it read alright believe its between 1.023 and 1.026

Yep looks good. Did you have sand and rock in there when you added the salt?

Yea i did i made sure to have strong flow over the sand and rocks so it kept moving

It can take 18-26 hours for salt to completely mix properly. In 24 hours you should probably shake out your rock and mix the sand. You don't want your salinity to creep up over the next few weeks. Another issue is precipitant. Most salt mixes have this issue depending on the ambient temperature of the water/room. It's usually better to mix salt in cooler water vs warmer to avoid some of this issue.

Thanks its been a day salt is still in the golden zone as my tank is gonna cycle for the next six weeks could i just leave the rocks in the tank and just keep monitoring the salt level then if it goes up i just exchange some tank water for freshwater
