Update on my algea bloom tank

For the past couple of months I have been dealing with an algae bloom from some bad information on a water change. I was just about to give up and start all over when someone told me to go dark for a week. So I did scared out of my mind I would loose my magnifica and other anemone and corals. I have done several water changes and blacked it out only turning lights on for 2 hours a day for the light feeding creatures and this is how it looks know. Before and after. Still have 3 more days on the lights out

UV sterilizer will clear this up without lights out. Been there.

Light out and when you do open the tank back up make sure you take a toothbrush and clean the inside walls and stuff good. Soft brush toothbrush. Do it daily and thTs what finally got rid of ours.

UV sterilizer will clear this up without lights out. Been there.

And a fine polishing filter will help, used only part time. I use one when I clean my rocks and sand bed, after the water clears up then remove it and clean for next time.

So I have been blacked out for 7days. Algae bloom is gone but now concerned about my anemones. 1 is a rock flower, 2 is a green mushroom, 3&4 in a mini/maxi green carpet. Which is the main one I am concerned about. Please help. I am also getting ready to upgrade to a bigger tank.

Wondering if I shouldn’t transfer all my corals, anemone’s to my 15 gallon and start all over. The tank cleared up for a few days but know it looks like this again. The last photo is the 15 gallon that has been running for a year. Any thoughts? Wondering if I am over dosing or what. Very confused and too many conflicting advice

Get a small internal UV filter and run until water clears up. Then remove, clean and save for next time it is needed. In order for us to help you we need water parameters. It is always good to upgrade to larger tank. No need to start over. This can be fixed.

Another update after adding protein skimmer and many water changes. Very proud of it. Getting ready to upgrade to a 55 gallon
