The owner of my LFS recommended I upgrade the lighting in ny 65 gal tank prior to adding corals. I currently have a four bulb t-5 HO Aquatic life fixture with two 10,000k bulbs, a 460/420 nm blue bulb and a 460nm blue bulb. I was thinking of adding two 36 inch LED strips. My goal is to be able to keep LPS, soft corals, an anemone, and leathers. Should I go with the 10,000k 460nm blue mix, all 460nm blue, or one of each? The total wattage of each strip is 15 watts and the mixed fixture has 24 blue and 24 white LEDs.

I think your lighting is fine for those corals. Some people even grow sps under fourbulb t5ho. Just make sure you use good bulbs like ATI. And I would just add leds for supplement/pop if you really want. You don't really need that many and its completely up to you on how much u want.

i have that exact light over my 55g tank and everything grows and looks great. i have 2 ati blue+ an ati aqua special or whatever the 12k bulb and a kz fiji purp. have mostly zoas and lps with just a few pieces of sps and everything is doing great

Thanks, I have some Green star polyps, an unidentified leather, and some button polyps that seem to be doing ok. Trying to do as much research as possible so I don't mess up!
