I have the opportunity to upgrade my frag system by 200% water volume. Most equipment will be reused with the exception of a new dt, return pump, supply line and 2 more powerheads. The existing rock, frag tiles and racks, skimmer, sump all being transfered.
My question is will an increase of 200% water volume cause a cycle and possibly lose? The system currently is 90% sps.
I also have some previously used dry pukani rock i could add to up the living arrangements for benificial bacteria. But was thinking of waiting till the tank stabalized before adding.
Also kicked around the idea of adding Dr Tims one and only.
Any thoughts?? Or questions?
Thanks Ryan

As long as you don't add more livestock rapidly, water volume doesn't matter. Add the extra volume while moving all your "stuff" over and then slowly add more livestock over time.
