Upgrade AI Prime to hydra32?

What corals do you have or want and what are your current results with the ai prime? The hydra is more powerful but if you are having good results with the prime there is no point of changing it

Yes. I needed to add a 2nd Prime on my Biocube 32 and wish I had gone with a Hydra32 off the bat. But, if you already have a Prime, just save some money and add another one instead of replacing it with a a 32.

I have a small 10gal I was thinking puting my HD16 over that. Although that would be over kill

Was sort of thinking forward. Considering a 70gl and would need 3-4 HD16 or 2 Hydra32?
It can wait

If you keep SPS and run the lights at higher intensity, 32HD is a lot quieter than 16HD (bigger heat sink vs plastic body). Otherwise, 2x 16HD will offer better spread.

Yep, 3-4 HD16’s or 2 32’s would be fine. They may be set pretty high if you need higher demand corals

Dimensions are pretty important rather than volume. Assuming this is for the Aquaone tank you have in your signature, the dimensions are about 24"L x 18"W x 18"T. You'll have better coverage with 2 x Prime 16's over the 1 x Hydra 32. In addition, your upgrade cost will be less by adding another Prime 16 vs replacing it with a Hydra 32.
