well, I just can’t fit any more in my 65g tank the way I want to, so time to go bigger, my current tank has been up for 2 1/2 years and I’ve never been happy with the stand, there just isn’t any room..can’t fit a skimmer or much of anything besides my sump, I have a HOB skimmer that I used for a while but it drove me crazy. So I picked up a 120 and some lumber. Got it framed up today

Got this for painting the interior of the cabinet, seems like it should work well, anybody used it?

I’m looking at sumps now, I built my last one out of a 20 long but I want to get a prebuilt one this time. Any suggestions? Im Leaning towards the Bashsea or the Fiji cube sumps

Moving along, just gotta paint the stand, get in in the house, get a sump, and start plumbing, gonna have my control center in the small compartment on the right, still working out how I want to set that up. My big dilemma right now is whether to move my existing rocks and corals over, or start new.... I’m eat up with aptasia in my old tank, and would like to try and keep this one aptasia free, if possible. Plus I want the scape to be completely different with a heavy lean towards sps (sticks) however I hate the idea of starting over...decisions decisions..

Are you doing a HOB overflow, or internal? Only reason I ask is I just went through this with a friend who was looking for a tank that could be drilled. Over 4 pet stores, every Aqueon, marineland, and topfin tank we could find was tempered and could not be drilled.

I believe it depends on the size of the tank more than just who makes it. Like I believe all 55 gallon tanks are tempered. And by tempered I mean all glass panels. Some tanks are tempered but only on the bottom panel.

Test fitting, gonna use magnets to hold the panels on, just gotta get some trim and paint or stain, haven’t decided yet but I’m leaning towards stain but that’s the part that’s up to my wife..

I have always used a HOB overflow and as long as you have the same flow going out as is being pumped in the tank and you matched the overflow capacity to that you will never have a problem with flooding. With the variable speed pumps this is very easy to do.

Until the power goes out and your pump doesn't restart, nor does the siphon. Ask me how I know!

It’s predrilled and set up for 2 internal overflows
