I'll be upgrading soon from a 65 gal to a Innovative Marine Nuvo 150 gal. The current set up is all HOB filtration, but the new system will have a sump. I planned on transferring all my current live rock to the new tank with also adding some dry rock as what I currently have won't be enough to fill out the 150. My concern is that with the new tank being more than double the size, the live rock I transfer from my current system wont be enough with adding more dead rock to avoid a possible full cycle again. Would I be better to slowly add a piece of dry rock here and there instead of all at once? I will be adding all new sand as well. I do have a Marine Pure block in my 65 gal right now that I will put in the sump of the new system.
