im upgrading to a 40-75 gallon tank in the next few weeks (or at least setting it up) from a 10galon... i have 20lbs of live sand and mostly live rock with 2lbs of "new fake rock" my tank has ben running for 3 months now and my numbers have ben veary good ... still fighting back start up algae but has ben going well,
debating on how to start up the new tank with out killing off my clowns and corals. maby take all the sand out and half the rock put it all in with dead sand (deep sb is my fave) and over a few weeks move more rock and live stock in...
or would a 10gallon have enuf goodness to "fast cycle" a bigger tank.
last question. if i got 5lb's of dry rock a week instead of 30lbs all at once, seems smarter to do alital at a time vs throw it all in there all at once
