Upgrade with used glass tank

I have a 4' glass 120 glass tank, which I purchased used about 8 years ago. I have room for a 6' tank and have been thinking about an upgrade. I have been and I still are considering a custom acrylic tank (72x30x24).

I found a 200 gallon (72x27x24 tall) used glass tank on facebook that I have been considering. I believe it is a custom build by its single center overflow with 3 drains and 2 returns. It also has a tall(er) stand at 40", which I perfer, so it checks a bunch of boxes.

The guy is asking $715 and he said he started at $1400. I was thinking of offering him $300.

Would I be a not-nice-guy by lowballing a used glass tank?

Would you consider a used glass tank?

Don't feel bad - for all you know it leaks and is essentially worthless. Offer him $300 without a water test - more if he's willing to water test it for you.
