Hey guys, I am starting a reef tank, but I am not new to marine husbandry. Ive been running a 46 gallon fowlr for about 3 years now and I decided to get more serious about the hobby and start my reef tank. I just purchased a 150 gallon dual overflow marineland tank (72" length) with Monterey canopy and stant, I have 180 lbs of fully established LR, some from my tank another I bought from a guy doing a break down, Reef Octopus RPS - 3000 recirculating skimmer, 40 gallon breeder I am going to cut a hole in to the side to convert into a 2 chamber berlin sump, I am getting the Diablo DC 10500 external sump, still debating lighting options but leaning toward 2 maxspect razors 27" 160 watt, going to use pink Fiji sand for substrate at about less than 2". Anyway, any suggestions you guys may have for me?

Yup, just one. You better get pictures of this build because it sounds like a good one!!!

Sounds like it going to be a awesome build.

Make sure everything will be reef safe,,, after having a fowlr for 3yrs it's prob gonna be hard. That's the only advice I can come up with :)

Thanks guys, Ive noticed many of the members here like to help out with questions, it is greatly appreciated. @ Dalmatia, I ran my fowlr with the intention of eventually setting up a reef, so I purchased livestock accordingly. 1 flame Angel, 2 fire gobies and a false clown. Scruggy J I would search on craigslist, you may be able to find a used 180 in near new condition for half the price you would pay in a store, a lot of people jump into the hobby thinking all u need is the tank, then they come to find thats only the beginning and either give up after a half hearted try or never even fill the tank. But you have to be careful the merchandise is of good integrity because unlike ebay once you buy your stuck. Also, I got my tank during a Marineland sale I found out about through my LFS, go to yours and see if its still going on. @ Mike & Madness, I'll post after I get that build up and running. Thanks again guys!
