Well we started keeping marine fish 2 years ago, this is the tank we first bought, it was a nice little setup but like all us marine enthusiasts, its never big enough

We upgraded to our second tank about 9 months ago, to this 4x2ft tank, and it was just fantastic to us, we had to get more rock obviously as the old amount seemed to disappear as did the fish!

We struggled with nitrates a lot and it caused a few problem, we had 3 filter systems on it but there always seemed to be problem with something!
A few weeks ago we built a sump for it, but couldn't quite get it right, though it ran great...

So yesterday morning my OH drove about 400 miles south to pick up our new marine tank that we've always wanted, its 5x2x2 ft, with a built in weir and sump system, spent all day yesterday and today setting it up, all the fish and rock is in and even a few new additions, and everything is working perfectly!
and Hopefully now we have a large sump up and running plus a few other things, will give it a few weeks and check the nitrates, really hoping it helps even if just a bit, better than nothing

Will get some better pictures when the corals have woken up again and the new fish and other fish when they're out and about!

Here she is!

I know, My OH is already looking at cubes, he'd like a coral only in the other room :squigglemouth:
I'd just like my lounge back!

Heres a couple pics to show the whole thing, i can't fit the whole thing in the picture as the dog crate is behind me so i can't get back far enough!

excuse me if i'm not understanding (OH deals with all the technical stuff)

The blue box is a UV box, the water exits through the weir, into the sump, through all the bubble trap, glass pellets, sand, rock, cheato etc, then through the UV and back into the tank, then the FX5 is separate filtration and is mainly there as the sump is new and therefore the FX5 holds all the good bacteria until the sump is up to speed :)
