Will be upgrading from a 60 cube to a 93 cube very soon. What is the best way for a smooth transition ? Should I transfer all inhabitants with rock work and new sand or cycle the tank first and then transfer all live stock ? Opinions ?

I would transfer everything including water with new sand and be done with it. I would also skim the top say 1/2" of sand from old aquarium and place on top of the new stuff to seed it.

You will get a slight cycle but nothing major. Have done that in the past several times while moving up in volume. Save all your water is the key. When you add the new water to the bigger aquarium it will be like doing a water change on the smaller aquarium. That is about it. Should be pretty smooth transition and no loss.

Yeah I’ve done it before but only from a 55 to a 60 . Only a 5 gallon difference. This time it’s a 30 gallon difference.

Dont let your live rock set outside of water long. I usually put water into a temp container and put rock in the same container.
