I currently have a DIY light that i did, it has RB, b, Cyan, WW, NW, and CW, i am going from a 29 biocube to a 45g cube, would you add any other color in that grouping, i have thought about UV, RED, Green, amber and Orange. I know my Warm Whites give off Red coloring, the green i heard just cause algae growth and the amber and orange i have heard are only for sunrise/sunset, and i know UV will make my coral pop. I keep reading that people have acans and chalices that just turn Orange after a while under LEDS and trying to make sure i have all spectrums covered, anyone recommend putting any other colors in the light to cover a spectrum i am missing and that has actually used the LED not just assuming it will help?

Thanks

Warm whites also give off a lot of yellow which looks bad.

For Growth all you need is Royal Blue and Cool White.

To add some pop you want to ensure your Royal Blue are 450-455nm. Other than that the UV 410-420nm will add colour pop but is dimmer than the royal blue.

For a tank your size only a couple Green and Red would be needed on a dimmable driver or buck puck to tweak the colour. 6-15 UV will also work provided you can dimm down your Blues.

Craig,

I do like the color as it gives off a lot of different colors to the tank and color seems to be good, but i do see the red fade a little which i don't like and trying to figure that out that is why i am looking to upgrade.

Bill,

question for you, is there any LED that gives off the same color as the Fiji purple bulb, i know that the blue plus is covered by the RB and B if i remember correctly but ive heard people losing the reds and pinks, what can counter that?
