Upgrading hob from aquaclear 50 to 70 question

I'm upgrading my hob filter to a little larger one but I am wondering how I go about the transition. Should I just put the brand new hob filter on and take off the old one or do I see the new one? do I run them side by side until the new one's media is cycled?

Any suggestions or methods you think would be best let me know! Thanks!

What size is the tank? How much live rock do you have in the tank? What type and how much media do you have in the HOB? How much bio-load is in the system (number of fish, etc.)? If all of your biological media is in the HOB then you may need to run in tandem for a bit, but if you have a good bit of live rock then it becomes less important.
