Hi all,

I have a Coralife Lunar 4-bulb HO T5 light fixure with 4 LED.
2 10K, and 2 Actinic bulbs (48")

I want to upgrade it to where I can safely have clams and nems.. I was advised the current setup is borderline for them. right now the tank is still cycling, it's a standard 48x18x21" 75 gal tank. I want to do all mixed reef.

I really don't want to spend $500 on a new fixture.. I am thinking adding an LED light strip or something to enhance the current fixture- something budget friendly.

Some advice please?

thank you!

Get a light meter to measure your light.

PAR meters are expensive, lux meters are around $15, or even free for a smartphone app that uses the cameras light meter.

The app is a great way to start while you wait for the much better $15 handheld meter to be delivered. Google the "lx-1010b" lux meter.

You probably want >30,000 lux to keep a clam happy.
