I know this is a popular topic, with opinions galore. But let me try it again, more specifically to my set up. I have SPS dominant, 6 foot by 26 by 24 tank. I currently am running 4 Neptune WAVs which have been great over the years. The problem is the the Apex and EB832s and EB8s. Over last 6 months I have had way too many failures and now need to diversify away from Apex. Simply put, Neptune technology is not reliable enough to run it all. The lights on my three tanks are done, all now running on other powerstrips/WIFI timers. And now I move to the pumps for diversification.

So my thinking is replacing the 4 WAVs, which are mounted on the left and right side panels and differing heights, with 2 MP60s, mounted high center on the two side panels. I can dial them down as needed so that I don't have a whirlpool. And can place an extra MP40 I have in the center back, but on this size tank don't think that is necessary.

So big question is...On a 6 foot 180 gallon tank, will two MP60s facing off with each other on the side panels, when programmed appropriately, do the job adequately for SPS dominant tank? Or is it overkill, even when programmed down in speed. Price not an issue here. Just function.

I would think 2 mp60 would be fine, but I like more flow options. I would probably go with 4 mp40's. 2 on the side glass and 2 on the back glass.

For comparison I run 2 mp10's, 2 jebao pp8's, and a gyre xf350in my 80G cube. Granted they are all turned down, but it creates awesome chaotic flow in my tank.
