Hello all,

So I'm in the early planning stages of a (10g to 29g) tank upgrade, and was wondering.
Is there a such thing as a sump that is "too big" for a DT?

The grand plan is to build a stand/canopy, and I intend on over-sizing the stand for aesthetics/potential future upgrades.
So I was going to shop for a sump to fit the stand, not a sump to fit the tank (If that makes sense), so i can gain the extra water volume/ in-sump area.
The stand itself will have plenty of available storage space for the future additions of dosing equipment, ATO, reactors, random junk etc...
I currently am using a canister filter and would like to make the jump into a refugium instead with this planned upgrade, and can't seem to find anything about size limits.

Good idea? Bad idea? Won't make a difference? (Other than cost, which I'm willing to deal with)

Yup, great idea. Most don't get that, the sump really should be as big as the DT. Yours will work great for you.
