What is the best way to go about transfering to a new tank? I currently have 2 tanks, a 30 gallon saltwater and a 75 gallon cichlid tank. Tomorrow i will be picking up my new 60 gallon and the game plan is to transfer the cichlids to the new 60 gallon and upgrade the saltwater to the 75 and use the 30 gallon as a sump under the saltwater tank. My problem is i want to avaoid a cycle in the 75 after transfering. Is that impossible? I will be moving a couple fish and a few corals, and the current rock in there (about 40lbs) im concerend that there wont be enough bacteria on the existing rock to keep ammonia down because my 30 gallon saltwater has only been up since may and i started with dry rock. Does anyone have suggestions on how to go about this in the quickest most efficient way?

Move it like you planned, maybe add some rock into the DT (and sump?), and I would add some bacteria in a bottle of your choice into the new 75 salt tank. And I would feed the new fish lightly and monitor for ammonia & nitrate production as indicators of the cycle status after the transfer.

Thank you, do you think i should move over the old HOB filter too temporarily just for extra bacteria?
