Would a bubble magus curve 7 be enough for a reefer 750xxl? Should I also use a foam/yoga mat between tank and stand? Do I any other upgrades parts for the plumbing or is the stock plumbing good enough? I'll be using a gfo reactor of some sort. My current 55g tank has a purple tang (2inches), 2 clowns, fire fish, 2 blue/green chronos, yellow watchman, some montis, lps, and a rbta. In qt right now is a small quarter size dory, royal gramma, spotted blenny. I'm hoping to have this 750xxl ready for all the fishes after 1month qt. I will be ordering as soon as I get all the right parts I need for this build. Any suggestions is appreciated. Thanks.

A Curve 7 is a good skimmer but maybe to small for a 180 gallon tank. A 180 tank should have a 8" body skimmer. Vertex 180 si a nice skimmer, they are on sale right now at BRS and Marinedepot. Another nice choice is the Simplicity line I would get the biggest one they offer.

The vertex looks like a great skimmer. Just ordered both the 750xxl and the vertex skimmer. Now the waiting game begins.

I use a AquaMax Cone S Q3 skimmer on my Reefer 750. It kicks butt. Sits in first chamber & refugium before return pump.

And no foam mats between the tank and the stand, set the tank up exactly to Red Seas Specs :) you will for your convenience probably need some plumbing adapters to convert from the metric to imperial.

I was looking around and saw that large tanks required some sort of yoga mat but I don't know if the red sea come with one or not. As for plumbing I guess I'll have to wait and see how it looks like before I upgrade or not as this will be my 1st sump build. Going to be a simple build with gfo reactor or chaeto refug, skimmer, 10% weekly water change, kalk ato until corals need more then I'll switch to dosing. Ill be going bare bottom for this build so hopefully I can just set the rocks on the bottom glass. Already have return pump, lights, ato unit. Anything else I'm missing?
