Hey everybody

I'm looking for some tips and help I'm just about to order the 350 currently have aio 65g so not a massive upgrade main reason for doing is to make things easier using a sump and to have a bit more room for a couple more fish no idea what yet

Planning on using new live sand redsea white

using most of water from old tank and topping up with new made from red sea coral pro

Taking cheato from old to new tank as well as all filter media

The new tank will be going exactly where the old one is so will have to transfer across in same day once the new one has been leaked tested etc

I will be transferring the existing rock across to new tank and keeping a tub with the old tank water whilst I switch the positions

Fish will be put in tubs with heater and tank water then drip acclimated back to new tank

For the new tank I will be adding about 5kg of new carib sea life rock

Is there any risk of a cycle not planning on adding any more live stock other than what I've got in there already for several months

Is there any way to reduce the clouding of the new sand so not to keep fish in tubs too long

The equipment I will be using on new tank to start with is

2x red sea led 90 taken from old tank
2 jabeo cross flow wavemaker
Tmc 4000 dc return pump
Bubble mag g7 skimmer
Tunze refugium light
Tunze osmolator ato rather than one that comes with the tank
Dd reactor running phos guard may leave this off for a bit
Any thoughts on these would be welcomed

Thanks all

There is a chance of a cycle. I would get some bacteria and just dose to try and avoid it. did exactly what you did and all my fish made it.
I would consider putting your sand in the sump or maybe a bag if you have it in the sump to help with bacteria transfer.
keep an eye on p04 maybe run some extra gfo just for a spike?

on a separate note how do you like the Red Sea lights?

I really like them not growing anything to taxing but have seen significant growth in all my softie corals within weeks I had a black box before which was fine but the red sea are so simple to use just plug and play for me being new is ideal

Do what Christopher said.

On the topic of trying to reduce cloudiness from all the new sand and water... put a bowl or large plate directly on top of the new sand bed. Pump the new water into the tank pointed onto the plate. Pump it from your container with a power head with an adjustable flow valve and dial it in so that the stream isn’t super forceful. I did this one time and the water cleared very fast.
