Hi guys

I already have a matured nano tank.. its just 15G. I was thinking of upgrading to RedSea Reefer series 250L tank - https://www.redseafish.com/aquarium-systems/reefer/

- DP tank volume - 204L (54 gal)
- Sump volume - 40L (11 gal)

Just wanted to get some ideas..

1) Roughly how many fishes I can add?
2) I believe I can add a blue tang (my fav)?
3) I already have a nano tank, so can I just shift my live rocks from my nano to this new tank?

Thanks :)

You’ll want to cycle the tank then transfer everything.
A blues tang needs a 250 gallon+ tank
Number of fish can varies from tank to tank

I have a red sea reefer 450 and as badly as i want one, probably wont get a blue tang.
Or you can get a juvenile but be prepared to give them up as an adult.
I will warn you, there are some pretty strong opinions on this. Ever heard the saying "tang police"?
They are coming for you if you put one in a reefer 250 lol

You can move the rocks out of your nano into a RS 250 but you will still have to add a bunch of other rock. Also to have tangs you need to have a tank that is 6 feet long in order to make the tang happy and healthy. It can be a shallow tank but it needs to be long so that the tang can swim back and forth long distances.
