Upgrading

So I’ve decided to upgrade my tank from a 300l tank to a 650l tank with 150l sump. I read a thread regarding tank transfer methods. Very very long. But helpful. Just wanted to confirm with someone that for this to be successful I can, place the old 300l water in the new tank and add 500l new water. Add my live rock straight away, remove sand from the old tank rinse thoroughly, then place in new tank. Once done I am able to put my fish and coral straight in?

That should work OK. Fish should be OK. Corals may be upset for some time until things settle down.

I basically did the same thing. From a 40g to holding tanks for 6 weeks (during home repairs and construction of an upgraded stand) then into a new DIY 90g tank (36" x 30" x 20").

I would buy new sand. When I upgraded I transferred everything but the sand. Too much can go wrong you don't rinse it good enough.

So I got the new tank and omg this thing is huge as HEAVY. I have no idea how I’m transferring things over though. So just to reiterate :
1) drain my tank to the new tank, add the liverock
2) add the live rock and coral to the new now half full tank
2) remove fish to another tank for now, as I’m worried about a cycle
3) add the remaining amount of fresh salt water to the new tank
4) rinse the heck out of the new sand and put it into the new tank

5) monitor for a few days check parameters if ok then add fish?
Should I put some liverock in the sump, or use some form of bacteria boosters??
