Uploading videos from point-and-shoot camera, are camcorders considerably faster?

It takes two hours to upload a 3 minute video to Google Photos from the SD card of my point-and-shoot camera. Are camcorders faster and are camcorders with built-in wifi worth it? Do camcorders usually use SD cards or cables? What kind of editing software is out there? I want to do some research.
