UPS power supply VS Battery Backup(ecotech)

Today i have been suffer ffrom power outage for around 3h while without any battery back up or air pump, so what i do just doing a drip and one in while dip and pour. I never though that would be really necessary for me but now i realize.

Now I’m on my way on setting up a bigger tank and would think of getting a backup battery, but those thing cost much and only work for ecotech products so i’m kind of look into the UPS power supply that i usually use with desktop computer.

Any idea or suggest for that?

A UPS is a battery back up. I have a large one with and additional battery for my return pump and apex. I have small one for my modem so I get notified and can still track my apex when the power goes out. I also have a Tunze near the surface on a Tunze safety switch hooked to a motorcycle battery, charged by a small solar charger.

I know it’s an old post but will the motorcycle battery kick in immediately when the power goes out or do you have to be there to hook it up?

The Tunze safety switch is instant and fully automatic. The UPS are as well.
